We are a Bates Technical College Accredited Preschool
Bates Technical College Cooperative Preschools provide early childhood education for children ages 2-5 years old. The college's instructors provide training, technical assistance, parenting information and support to the cooperative preschool teachers.
What is a cooperative preschool?
A cooperative preschool is a parent/child participation program. Parents enroll in a parent education program at Bates. This is all done in one simple meeting held at our preschool's orientation night. While parents are enrolled in the program, they earn college credit in a continuing education program.
Our Bates-trained cooperative preschool teacher, Miss Nicole, plans an enriched, fun and challenging curriculum for the children. Parents help conduct the non-profit business of the preschool and assist in the classroom on a rotational basis as part of the laboratory experience. On a monthly basis, the co-op preschool, Bates, or a community agency presents an educational opportunity to parents as part of a lecture requirement.
Due to Covid19, we have made the difficult decision to postpone face-to-face learning at this time.
We are monitoring the situation and guidelines provided by the Governor, health department, and Bates and will post updates on our website and Facebook as they become available. We miss you and look forward to reopening and learning together again!
